featured in News & reviews Author Pam Williamson, Meribel Editor Updated

With the results coming in thick and fast for the events taking place in the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Meribel we thought we'd better give you a quick run down of the winners so far...

Yesterday saw the day begin with the Men's Downhill and a fantastic result from Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud who took first place with a time of 1:40.86. He was followed by Swiss skier Didier Defago in 1:41.10 and the Austrian Georg Streitberger came third in 1:41.17. A very close race!

The first Frenchman to finish was Guillermo Fayed in fifth position with a great time of 1:41.56. Guillermo is a local of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, a French Alpine Skier and a soldier. Well done Guillermo!

Up next was the Women's Downhill - here American Lindsey Vonn secured a record-equalling seventh Alpine Skiing World Cup title! After returning from injury the 30 year old skier has had an incredible season. She won with an astonishing time of 1:29.87 ahead of Austrian Elisabeth Goergl at 1:30.11 and third place Nicole Hosp also from Austrian, in 1:30.17.

Today it is the turn of the Super G - with the Women's event currently going on we can now see the results from the Men's race that took place first thing this morning. Dustin Cook from Canada took first place by a mere .05 of a second over yesterdays champion Kjetil Jansrud - 1:06.04 and 1:06.09. Third place was just as close at 1:06.12 - a great run from the Frenchman Brice Roger.

Keep an eye on the live twitter feed from Cara Brown in Meribel for the latest news and we will update the results as soon as we have them!
