Meribel Prepares For the Ski World Cup Finals

The countdown is on for the biggest event of this season

For the past couple of weeks Meribel has been buzzing as the Ski World Cup Finals draws ever closer.

The Roc de Fer piste’s snow cannons have been working over time and it appears to be being groomed on a daily basis. Helicopters have been shuttling great loads of equipment up to the top (quite a sight to behold) and seating stands and marquees are in the process of being erected all over the Chaudanne.

On Tuesday 17th March the opening ceremony will take place in the Chaudanne and on Wednesday 18th the games officially begin and run right through until Sunday 22nd. There will also be free celebratory live music events around the resort during the event.

This is the first time that France has ever hosted the Ski World Cup so it is a hugely exciting privilege to have the event right here in Meribel.

This season’s top 25 athletes from each discipline will battle it out on the specially opened ‘Roc de Fer’ slope, each with the chance of being named the best in the world in their category.
