Meribel is gearing up for the World Cup Skiing Finals to be held between the 18th and 22nd March this year, and it's going to be a huge event!

Around 70,000 spectators are expected to descend on the resort over the course of the week to watch the worlds best ski racers compete on the Roc de Fer piste.

There will be 5 disciplines to watch - Downhill, Super G, Slalom, Giant Slalom and a Team Event, with this season's top competitors battling it out for the title in each category and for the season.

Snow conditions have, as we know, been a bit questionable at the start of this season but the resort teams have been and will continue to work exceptionally hard to ensure that the piste is in good condition come race week. As well as the piste maintenance teams, there will be a small army of 300 volunteers helping throughout the event, both on and off the mountain.

Take a look a the picture and the video above to see the start and finish for each discipline.

If you're in resort at the time of the Finals, you'll be able to watch all the action on the big screens at the bottom of the Roc de Fer whilst enjoying a drink from the bar!

Meribel hosted the Mountain Bike World Cup back in August, and after having just won the "Best Event" award for Downhill mountain biking, you can be sure that they're going to put on another great show.
