The Ronnie loves music festival is back in town

Another glorious week of skiing and sunshine has passed as we welcome the spring heat and look forward to a new week of live music and après entertainment in Meribel.

This week it’s all about The Rond Point and it’s annual spring event, The Ronnie Loves Music Festival. Featuring big name acts and live music everyday from around 14:00, it’s the perfect way to relax, soak up some rays and enjoy quality sounds after a hard day on the mountain.

Monday 20th March

Monday the 20th of March kicks off the start of the festival with Bring Your Sisters headlining at The Ronnie after the Marivaux Duo. If you haven’t had a chance to catch BYS at Lodge Du Village or O’Sullivan’s all season, now’s your chance to dance to the rock n roll sounds of the popular alpine band on The Ronnie’s sunlit terrace.

Alternatively, catch Coco & The Butterfields at LDV from 16:00 or Sian Smith at Jack’s Bar from 17:00 if you’re looking for a less crowded and more intimate après session. The Mardy Johnny Depps will feature in the evening at Evolution with The Domino’s playing at Le Pub from 22:30.

Monday night also means Evolution’s Meat Grill Monday event happening between 19:00 - 22:00. Pay €20 and indulge in the meaty-goodness of a sharing platter including succulent sirloin and gammon steaks, southern fried chicken wings, kindo BBQ ribs, garlic prawns, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, grilled cob and homemade chips plus béarnaise sauce and salad. Call them to make a reservation.

Tuesday 21st March

The High Jives are the main act at Rond Point Fest today, with supporting acts, DJ Wonka and Mike Haywood playing in the early afternoon. Daisy B & Tom for après at Jacks Bar with Bring Your Sisters performing at Lodge Du Village from 16:00 in Meribel Village.

Later on, enjoy stand up comedy at LDV from 22:00 with the one and only, Marcus Brigstocke and Bobby Mair headlining. Tickets cost 15€ and are on sale now at the bar. Bubble & Crisp featuring at Le Pub for your evening entertainment or listen to the soulful sounds of Hobo Chic instead at Evolution from 22:30.

For all those budding rock stars, get involved Tuesday night at Jack’s Bar’s Rock Night and Air Guitar Competition event. Hosted by Jamie Smith and Mark Stoneman, Jacks’ is looking for anyone who’s willing to glam up and rock their heart out to a song of their choice with a chance to win an amazing 250€ bar tab! An annual season event for the last 13 years, it’ll be a fabulous night out and a chance to show-off the moves you never thought you’d ‘air’ in public.

Don’t miss out on the epic Tuesday night shot deals available around town; 2€ shots of genepi, toffee vodka, jager and sambuca available at Jacks or head to Scott’s Bar for 2€ tequila’s and 12€ wraps from 19:00.

Wednesday 22nd March

Wednesday is chalet host’s day off and it's a perfect excuse to enjoy frothy jugs of beer and outdoor live music. Ronnie Loves Music Festival is hosting its biggest event day this Wednesday afternoon with Norman Jay returning for his fifth consecutive year. In the lead up to his early evening set, local DJ’s, Bubble & Crisp will get the vibes pumping alongside a DC demo takeover featuring pro riders and their gnarliest moves.

Plus there are plenty of other great gigs to enjoy around resort Wednesday afternoon with Jack’s Bar’s extended après event featuring The Mardy Johnny Depps, Wingmen and MAPS from 17:00. Touring band, Bloc Off The Wall will play live at LDV from 4pm and catch The Wingmen for their second gig of the evening at Le Pub from 22:30. Don't forget that Tsaretta in Les Allues also has live music on every Wednesday Friday night from 22:00.

Thursday 23rd March

The Sunset Son’s are the Thursday headline act at The Rond Point with help from The Domino’s, Daisy B, Tom and Al. Sian Smith will be playing for après at LDV and Hobo Chic at Jack’s from 17:00.

Friday 24th March

Friday is the final day for the Ronnie Loves Music Festival and is expected to be a massive afternoon of terrace partying to end a week of incredible music. The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club will feature in the evening once local boys, Ze Funkin English warm the crowd. Alternatively, catch six-piece live jazz band, Electric Spank at Lodge Du Village for après or The Mikey Gray show at Jack’s from 17:00.

Friday night also means Open Mic Night at Scott’s Bar hosted by resident Meribel musicians, Daisy B & Tom. Scott’s 2-4-1 cocktails available between 22:00 - 23:00. Head to Tsaretta in Les Allues with live music every Friday night from 22:00.
