Ski in Meribel this Easter 2018
If there was ever a season to come skiing in April, this is it!
This is the winter that keeps on giving, with continual cold and snowy weather resulting in exceptional skiing conditions throughout the Méribel Valley.
The epic snowfalls this season total nearly 5m of accumulated snow, more than enough to guarantee extensive skiing right to the season end on April 22nd. Currently, 63 of the 64 runs in the Méribel valley are still open with beautiful snow on them, conditions not seen at the end of March for many years.
And, if the extensive skiing in Méribel isn’t enough, Courchevel and Val Thorens both offer fantastic, high and snow-sure pistes just a gondola ride away.
The longer days in April mean more hours skiing in the sun, together with lots of outdoor events and ski competitions to enjoy. How about taking part in the ultimate, all-round ski test, the famous 3 Vallées Enduro challenge over Easter weekend?
The Easter school holidays are much less busy than the Christmas or half term holidays, meaning the slopes are uncrowded and restaurants quieter. For off-piste skiers, there is still powder snow to be found in higher, north-facing areas. Local experts are forecasting a fantastic April for spring-snow conditions off-piste, with snow still on all the lower itineraries.
Skiing is easier on the wallet in April too: tour operators and chalets offer discounts on the last weeks of the season and lift passes reduce in price from April 14th. For those yearning to recharge their batteries after a long winter, Méribel offers two weeks of special wellbeing events. Zen Altitude offers a host of relaxing activities, from outdoor yoga and massages to luxury hotel spa-deals, from 31st March to 13th April.
2018 is the epic snow season that we’ll be talking about for years, make sure you don’t miss it!!
