What's on in Meribel April 2019

The winter isn't over yet in Meribel, and April promises to be a fantastic month.

With that in mind, here's a quick rundown of all the best events you can expect in resort over the coming month.

The Village Fete, Wednesday April 3rd

Lodge du Village’s annual party offers you live music, BBQs, retail stands and partying till late with a DJ. Groove to Méribel’s top band, The Wingmen, enjoy some sneaky shopping with cutting edge brands, munch chicken wings from the BBQ and party ‘til late with DJ Kaya.

Charity Day, Wednesday April 10th

Méribel’s festival-in-a-day is the last big party of the season. Held in Méribel Village, this charity event combines music and DJs, fancy dress, fantastic food and a brilliant end-of-season vibe. It’s popular with seasonaires and families thanks to the special children’s area. There’ll be music from the resort’s favourite local bands, plus headliners Jaguar Skills and Bring Your Sisters; a prize charity draw and auction, tombola , face-painting, BBQ and curry food tents, VIP lounge and outside bars. All the money raised goes to great causes.

Defi de l’Olympe, Sunday April 7th

If running up mountains is your idea of fun, you won’t want to miss this trail running event for individual runners and teams. Simply run up the steep mountain path linking Brides-les-Bains to Les Allues as many times as you can in a six-hour period. Your legs are allowed a little respite; the downhill part is made by the Olympe ski lift.

Les 3 Vallées Enduro, Sunday April 7th

This fun contest claims to be the biggest amateur ski event in the world, with 1,500 people competing each year. It takes place around the entire Les 3 Vallées ski area, with different challenges to complete at every resort. In teams of three, you’ll take part in a Freeride, Giant Freestyle, Biathlon Experience, Big Air Bag, Boardercross, Belleville Triplette, Transceiver Project, Photocall, Family Schuss and Skicross events. There are categories for all levels, including a family category, and there’s a convivial lunch and prize-giving party afterwards.

Ice hockey match - France v Latvia, Friday April 19th

In preparation for the World Championships, the French national ice-hockey team will play a friendly against Latvia. Fans of top-level sport shouldn’t miss this exciting match at Méribel’s Olympic rink. Tickets cost €29 (€9 for children) or €10 for standing room. Match starts at 20:15.

Last day of the season, Monday April 22nd

After this fabulously snowy season, skiing conditions promise to be excellent right through to the last day. Easter Monday is the last day to enjoy the sunshine, snow and fun here in Méribel.
