Copiña, a Spanish tapas bar in Meribel

New bar serving cocktails, craft beer, tapas & wine opens this season

featured in News & reviews Author Ana Hernández, Meribel Editor Updated

The first authentic tapas bar in Meribel is opening its doors this season, widening the already great offering of international cuisine in the valley. Copiña promises to be this season's apres-ski hotspot, bringing the relaxed Spanish way of eating and drinking into resort.

Located on the site of the former Le Rosset (and La Maison before that), Copiña is European Pubs Ltd's new venture after Jack's Bar and Evolution Cafe Bar & Brasserie. This time, they have decided to turn south for their inspiration, with a menu that will draw influence from Spanish tapas, made with Iberian-sourced ingredients.

Behind the bar, their mixologists will concoct cocktails by combining home-made ingredients and cutting-edge techniques. They will also serve a selection of six different craft beers from all over the world as well as over ten wines carefully sourced from international wineries, all available by the glass.

The name 'Copiña' means a small glass or drink in Galician language. It's great to see a piece of this Spanish region, the northwesternmost area in the Peninsula, come to Meribel (especially to someone born and bred in Galicia like me!). The bar will probably open the week before the lifts start running, on the 9th of December, from 17:00 to 02:00. We'll definitely pop by this season and write one of our Restaurant Reviews, so keep an eye on this space.
