Brasserie Le Tremplin Restaurant Review

Great Location at the Foot of La CHaudanne

featured in Restaurant reviews Author Matt Hein, Ski Editor Updated

What a shame - is the resounding feeling I'm left with after having stopped here for lunch with a colleague. It's in a great location, right at the bottom of the Chaudanne, but the ambience, decor and poor quality of food here really lets it down.

At the time we stopped by there were only a few old skiers eating lunch there, but we thought we'd give it a try anyway, how bad could it be? I had the steak frites salad (as they'd run out of the Plat du Jour - not surprising considering the menu is on the steep side for a ski station!) The service was just functional, no smiles or banter, and when the food arrived my steak was stringy (I'd ordered bloody) but it came raw in the middle and pretty tepid - not going well so far.....

My colleague had a pizza, which was OK, but not worth the price they charged for it, and the bread basket was stale so definitely not from that day. Suffice to say we didn't order desserts, and left feeling that we wouldn't return - as I said at the start - what a shame! One of the most disappointing meals I've had in the Alps!

Starters range from 7.50 for a green salad to 34 euros for fois gras, most of the Pizzas are around the 16-18 euros mark, Meat dishes from 17.90 euros, and Tartiflette 19.90... It's for you to make up your own minds about eating here of course, but I'd only recommend it for a coffee while you're waiting to meet friends to maybe eat elsewhere.
