Families & Kids
You’ll need to book your own childcare, when staying here. There is a great choice of childcare options in Meribel from full-time nanny services to the odd night of babysitting. In addition, during the winter season, many of the ski-schools operate creche services. Booking in advance is always recommended and strongly advised for the school holiday periods.
Book My Childcare
You’ll need to book your own transfers, when staying here. Your main options are shared or private transfers, but consider whether you would prefer a door-to-door service or a (generally cheaper) “communal” drop-off point at your destination.

You’ll need to book your own ski hire, when staying here. There are many choices for hiring equipment. Generally, you’re best off choosing somewhere close for ease of access, & less far to carry your kit, easier to make changes, and quicker to return and pay at the end. Nevertheless, many suppliers will deliver and some snow-front rental stores offer ski lockers, so it’s worth checking out all the options.

Instructors & Lessons
When staying here, you’ll need to book your own ski or snowboard lessons. Tuition is strongly recommended for complete beginners and is always a good idea whatever your level to perfect your technique. Group lessons are a great way for children to learn with their peers whilst giving you some free time on the slopes. Groups are also a generally cheaper option for adults, however, with a private instructor you’ll have undivided attention and be able to progress at your own pace.

The Méribel Valley is one of the most popular ski destinations for British skiers thanks to its world class skiing, charming chalet-style architecture and village atmosphere. The resort was founded in the 1930s by a British skier, Peter Lindsay, and it has remained true to his vision: villages of chalet-style buildings set amongst trees. The Meribel valley is ideally placed at the heart of les 3 Vallees ski area and offers state-of-the-art lifts and snow-making facilities. Meribel has a wide range of up-market chalets and hotels as well as bustling apres-ski, high-end shopping and excellent sporting facilities.
Méribel Centre is the largest village in the valley offering the widest choice of accommodation, shops, sporting activities, restaurants and nightlife. The resort spreads from here up the hillside, with smaller centres of shops and restaurants at Altitude 1600 and le Plateau. With its chalet-style architecture and woodland setting, Méribel is considered one of the most beautiful of France’s purpose-built resorts.
Méribel Centre’s restaurants offer something for everyone from fine dining or local cuisine to burgers and takeaway pizzas. The centre of town and Route de la Montée offer the widest selection of restaurants, and Morel and le Rond point areas also have several good French/International cuisine restaurants each. The hotels on the main piste running through Meribel offer good quality lunches on their restaurant sun terraces – ideal places for dining in the sun right on the slopes.
