Smiling faces all round on the piste as Christmas arrived, bringing a sun filled weekend. Santas, a moose and even a skiing skeleton were to be seen adding to the festive spirit around the slopes which were generally in great condition throughout.

Skiing down to St Martin on Christmas eve we encountered a fairly empty Jerusalem piste which was a little hard in places lower down as a result of temperatures having dropped somewhat recently.

However, overall the conditions were excellent and the constant sunshine added to a very satisfactory day. A visit by a hot air balloon to the Chaudanne on Christmas morning  proved an interesting spectacle as it hovered quite low concentrating skiers minds. Over in Courchevel  skiers were out in force and the slopes felt much busier in general over there. Almost all of the ski domain is now open, providing great skiing for all levels.

A break in the sunshine is due on Thursday but better weather is expected to return by the weekend for the end of year celebrations.  Happy New Year!
