The Michelin Guide Announces New Stars for 2015

The winners and losers in this years Michelin Guide

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Meribel Editor Updated

Yesterday morning the Michelin Guide announced this years star rankings for the best restaurants in the world. The guide goes on sale this Friday, but if you'd like to know more about who's won and who's lost out this year in France, read on..

The highest accolade of 3 stars has only been given out to 2 new restaurants this year, one of which is La Bouitte in St Martin de Belleville in the 3 Valleys and goes to Yannick Alleno, the new chef at the Ledoyen in central Paris. That makes the total 26 three star restaurants now in France.

There are 80 restaurants with 2 stars, and L'Atelier d'Edmond in Val d'Isere joins this list for the first time this year. 6 other French restaurants also made the grade.

Of the 503 1 star restaurants, there are a few new additions - one in Chamonix L'Auberge du Bois Prin, one for l'Ekrin at La Kaila Hotel in Meribel and one for L'Épicurien in Val Thorens.

Sadly the Strato in Courchevel has lost one of its stars, and Le P'tit Polyte in 2 Alpes has also lost its only star.

For the full list, you'll have to wait until Friday when this years guide goes on sale.
