The Guardian newspaper reported yesterday that one of Shumachers ex-racing driver friends, Phillip Streiff, has spoken on French radio to say that Schumacher is paralysed and suffering from memory and speech problems.

After Shumacher suffered serious head injuries last December on a skiing trip to Meribel, he was placed in an induced coma but has since been released from hospital to recuperate at home.

Streiff went on to say that Shuey's condition remained grave, that he is still unable to speak and is currently in a wheelchair, paralysed.

A doctor that treated him in Grenoble said it could take anything from 1 to 3 years to recover.
