MGM (Maurice Giraud Montagne) is the biggest property developer in the French Alps.
Established in 1963, MGM today employs around 60 people engaged in the planning, design, construction and marketing of apartments, chalets and villas in the French Alps and around Lake Annecy.
Now, in response to market demand, MGM are combining the experience gained in northern and southern locations to design and build a new generation of environmentally-friendly homes around Lake Annecy, while continuing to expand their traditional business in the Savoie and Haute Savoie areas of the French Alps, where they have been active for more than 45 years. Recently they have extended their activities south to the Hautes Alpes region.
In the French Alps, MGM enjoy an enviable reputation as the region’s leading developer, having built properties in many of the top French ski resorts to standards which present a tough challenge to rival developers. This reputation has prompted much of the demand from buyers for MGM properties in the Annecy area where local authorities, recognising the calibre of the firm’s past developments, have welcomed their plans for new residential schemes.
Newly branded ‘MGM Lakes and Mountains', MGM are currently building in around 30 locations ranging from lakeside villages to ski-in/ski-out resorts in the mountains.
Many of MGM properties are sold outright, but the group is also renowned for developing and managing four star leaseback residences, featuring swimming-pool, sauna, jacuzzi, fitness and steam rooms, and a beauty centre providing a comprehensive range of in-house body treatments. Leaseback properties are fully maintained and managed by MGM’s management company: CGH, la Compagnie de Gestion Hoteliere.
