About the Lift System in Meribel
Excellent lift system with regular updates & fast access to the slopes
Throughout the winter season the Three Valleys operate an impressive lift system consisting of 180 ski lifts that transport 260,000 skiers hourly!
Meribel and the Three Valleys are constantly investing in their lift system to ensure that it remains the best ski area in the world. They spent over 50 million € on the Three Valleys lift system in 2012, making various improvements and updating the lifts. With updates and improvements every year the three valleys has an extremely efficent lift system that can have you up skiing the pistes in no time.
Meribel itself has over 40 ski lifts that are marked on the piste map using straight black lines which are a combination of button tow/drag, chair, télécabine and téléphérique. They have the corresponding abbreviations:
TK - téléski (drag)
TS - télésiège (chair)
TC - télécabine (gondola)
TPH - téléphérique (cable car)
For télécabine think bubble car and for téléphérique think cable car. Anything prefixed/suffixed with “Express” means a modern fast chair lift.
In the winter you'll also find that the pistes around the lifts will be perfectly groomed each morning. The Three Valley's has 80 piste bashers that operate daily throughout the winter season from 5:00pm all the way through to 7:00am. With excellent links from Meribel to the whole three valleys area you can enjoy these perfectly groomed pistes that the highly efficent lift system gives you access to.
