Meribel Activities - Indoor / Bad Weather
| Indoor / Bad Weather Activities in Meribel |
|
If you are unlucky enough to find yourself in Meribel when the rain is pouring and the wind is howling, or if you simply want to have a day off all of those extreme sports you've put your body through, there's no shortage of things for you to do in Meribel. Whether you fancy some pampering at a spa, want to catch a movie at the cinema, or take the kids to the indoor swimming pool; here's a few suggestions to keep you entertained during your stay. |
| Arcades & 10 Pin Bowling |
Bowling le Canadien has 6 lanes, a games arcade, pool tables and a big screen for sports matches. You can also grab a drink and some snacks at the bar, there is draught lager and a big choice of cocktails. Tuesdays and Thursdays are 'flourescent' nights, when the lights are dimmed, the music is turned up and the bowls and pins glow in the dark!
You'll find the bowling alley in the Olympic Centre, open between 2pm-2am (11am on bad weather days). |

| Beauty, Spa & Massage |
If you're not here for the outdoors ‘extreme’ lifestyle and would prefer a more relaxing break in Meribel, then you'll be pleased to hear that there is an altogether more pleasurable experience to be had at one of the many spa/beauty centres in town. Many of the hotels have luxurious spa facilities, it is always worth enquiring whether or not they are reserved for residents only. The Olympic centre has a public spa, which includes an indoor swimming pool, gym, beauty spa, sauna, jacuzzis, relaxation room and restaurant with a mountain view.
Being so close to the ultra-chic Courchevel 1850 means there are plenty of top beauticians available, offering massages, facials, manicures and body treatments - all designed to meet your needs, whether it be a hen weekend, or day of girlie pampering for you and your friends.
Check out our Spas & Salons listings for further information. (Gentlemen, this is not a ladies restricted activity though, it's just as applicable for all you 'real men' out there who are not afraid to indulge in a spot of off-piste pampering!)
Of course, with all the sporting activities in Meribel, there are many qualified physiotherapists and masseurs in town to help take your daily stresses, aches and pains away. You can find details of local masseurs, physiotherapists and holistic practitioners on our Health & Fitness pages.
The nearby town of Brides-les-Bains is also well known for the restorative properties of its spas - about 20 minute by car its not far for a relaxing day out! |

| Fitness & Sports Centre |
A brand new public gym/relaxation area was unveiled at the Olympic Centre in Christmas 2007. This centre offers saunas, spa, steam rooms and hydro-massages. A fitness zone adjoining the swimming pool is run by a fitness professional and offers cardio-training, fitness-training, weights room and dance. The Olympic Centre also houses an indoor climbing wall, bowling alley and ice rink.
The Hotel Grand Coeur has a small gym/spa which is open to the public. There are two other gyms in Meribel but sadly, neither are currently open to non-residents. The first is in the Chaudanne Hotel, and is open to guests of the Chaudanne, Eterlou and Tremplin hotels. The second is in Meribel Village, and is only open to residents of Les Fermes de Meribel Village. |
